Tracking holdings without a ticker symbol in a manual investment account

Manual Investment accounts in Personal Capital allow for adding assets that do not have a public ticker symbol.  In order to add private equity, loans, or funds that do not have a public stock ticker you can utilize a custom ticker.

The first step will be to create a manual investment account though the steps at Add Manual Investments Holdings .

Once an account is added you can add manual holdings by entering a value in the ticker field that is not a public ticker.  The quantity, price, and description will need to be input and updated manually.  An example is provided for shares in a privately held lemonade stand.

Click on Done after adding each private holding.  This can be repeated as many times as needed for different holdings.

The holdings will then be available in the Manual Classifications allowing for the addition of an allocation if desired.
