How do I Change the Settings for Security Alerts?

Personal Capital takes the security of your account very seriously. To this end, we actively monitor if there is unusual login activity on your account.

 

If a login attempt from outside the U.S. comes in to your account, in addition to adding another layer of security to your account we also send an email to notify you of the login attempt. This can be very useful in the event that someone is attempting to compromise your account- you know the moment a attempt is made. 

 

However, if you are traveling you may find it useful to disable this feature. Simply navigate to your Settings page, then scroll down to Security Settings:

If you disable this feature you will no longer be emailed every time a login attempt comes into your account from outside the United States.

 

We recommend re-enabling this feature once you return home to ensure that your account remains secure.
