If your account isn't showing the correct type (401K, IRA etc) you can change the 'Account Type field. Application specific steps to change the account type are below.
Web Application (https://www.personalcapital.com):
- Click on the 'Pencil' icon on the 'My Accounts' panel
- Click the 'Pencil' icon next to the account name.
- You can change the ‘Account Type’ field to anything of your liking
- Login to the app
- Swipe left on the account you'd like to change
- Tap edit account
- Change the 'Account Type' field to your liking
- Log in to the application.
- Long tap the account you'd like to change and change the account field to your liking.
