Target Allocations are practical and very efficient Asset Allocations. They are very close representations of the allocations we implement for most of our clients. For clients, we are able to get a more complete financial picture to ensure the optimal Allocation is chosen. We are also able to factor in tax considerations, existing and outside holdings, and customizations. We also optimize sub-asset allocation to ensure all the pieces of the portfolio work together as well as possible. For example, we use a blend of 8 ETFs to achieve diversified fixed income exposure for most clients. This allows for higher yield with less risk. Within US equities, we use individual stocks to create what we believe is a superior indexing methodology to traditional capitalization weighted indexes like the S&P 500.
